The Windham Foundation Connection

Grafton Village Cheese is part of the Windham Foundation, a nonprofit organization based in Grafton, Vermont whose mission is to preserve the social, economic and cultural vitality of communities across Vermont.

The Foundation's most visible efforts have been in the restoration of some of Grafton's finest old buildings. The inn, one sawmill and a store were all that remained of local commerce. Along with the general economic decline, many of the village's fine buildings had fallen into disrepair. The Windham Foundation's work of purchasing and restoring old buildings began in 1963. Today, the restoration efforts are widely visible throughout the Village, including The Old Tavern and our own building.

Come to Grafton and see for yourself where world-class cheddar is made. Taste the Classic Reserve and the Premium cheddars, experience the feeling of strolling the main street of a nineteenth century village, savor Vermont and bring a little piece of it home with you. See why Grafton was named one of the 10 Most Beautiful Places in America by USA Today.

The people at Grafton Village Cheese Company are ready to welcome you. And if you can't come yourself, they'll send you some delicious cheddar to enjoy at home.
